One more week down! And . . . I'm not gonna lie, this week was pretty unsuccessful. With two kids and the hubby all sick, I didn't have energy left to stay on top of everything and do MuTu (thus why this post is several days late and the blog has had crickets chirping and a tumbleweed or two lately!).
Though it wasn't the greatest week, I am happy to report that I am now able to get through the intensive workout! Granted, I may need to take a couple extra breaks, but my endurance is improving.
I am also thrilled to report that my gap is now considered closed above and below my bellybutton. At my bellybutton, the gap is 1.5-2 fingers wide, it is sooo close to being closed!
Honestly, I was skeptical when I first started using the MuTu System. I didn't expect results so soon, and I certainly never dreamed I would go from a gap of 3-4 fingers to nearly closed in 4 weeks! It truly is incredible and I can't recommend MuTu enough!
My core strength has improved greatly over the last four weeks and while I know there is more strengthening to do, I think losing the remainder of my mummy tummy will lie in weight loss. Until I am able to lose more weight, I don't expect to see a huge difference from week to week now (though I could be wrong).
My next step in getting healthy this year will be having my thyroid levels tested since I've had most of the symptoms of hypothyroidism for a couple years now. I cannot lose weight unless I'm starving (and I simply won't starve), and my thyroid could very well be the reason.
Though that is a little discouraging, I think strength is important. I'll be focused on continuing the strengthen my core and increase my endurance with the MuTu System whether or not I can lose any additional weight for the time being.
Healing my diastasis recti and strengthening my core has made a world of difference even though I still have some weight to lose! I am stronger, I feel better, I look better, and I haven't had back-pain since I started (I used to end every night on a heating pad). It's amazing what the right exercises can do! Since I've experienced such great results so quickly with the MuTu System, I am going to switch from a weekly update in this series to a bi-weekly one. I am excited to get back into my routine this week and post another update after week 6!
And now onto this week's photo!
Though I had grand plans of keeping my outfit the same in each picture, life has happened the last couple weeks and laundry hasn't. Sometimes ya' just gotta flow with life! And lest you begin the think my hair is in a perpetual pony-tail . . . it pretty much is ;-)
How are you progressing on your goals this year?
4/17/15 UPDATE: Well, so I never got that bi-weekly update posted! With sick kids and life happening, it just got pushed to the back-burner. Here is what I can say though: it has been weeks--weeks I tell you--since I last completed a MuTu workout or core exercise. HOWEVER, the results I achieved during these four weeks have lasted. My stomach remains the same (I could sub a photo from today for the 4-week one and it would be identical!) and my gap is still holding steady at about a finger's width (hurray!). I am entirely impressed with the MuTu System and I highly, highly recommend it if you are looking to heal your diastasis recti! As for me, the weather is warming up and I am looking forward to getting back into a routine and continuing the process of strengthening my core :-)
